Things are moving ahead in leaps and bounds in Building the Education Revolution. Over the next five weeks the main frames will be finish being erected. Studs will be worked on and filled in. The builders will be working on finishing one frame section at a time. We are aiming to get the roof on as soon as possible to ensure that the frames are covered from inclement weather. Once the frame is braced and secure and the 'trees' are up the limestone bricks will go in. The builders tell us that we are still ahead of schedule - if only slightly.
We have gone vertical! This week saw the first columns going up. Over the next three weeks all of the tree frames will be erected, with each area taking approximately a week to complete. Limestone blocks are arriving this Monday and the building will really beginning to take shape over the next 2 weeks. Even after coping with the rain and mud we are still 1-2 weeks ahead of schedule.
We are ahead of schedule! The builders have completed the passive cooling and have installed all water tanks. The slab has been poured over the tank area. Over the next couple of weeks the hydronics will go in and then the slab in the back corner will be poured. The final pour will happen during the last week of this term. The columns for the next stage are being fabricated offsite.
