Get Involved

Our Parent Helper Program is a great way to contribute to the life of the school. The 2015 parent helpers  all go into classrooms to work with the students and teachers to assist the students to achieve at their very best. We are in awe of the generosity and dedication of these helpers, because we know they make a difference to some children which is both life-long and life changing.

There are many ways that parents can be involved at Wodonga West including:
  • Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden
  • School Council membership
  • Parents, Family and Friends Group activities
  • Canteen roster
  • Classroom helpers programs during Literacy blocks
  • Reporting and Parent/Teacher Interviews
  • Working bees and Regular Sausage Sizzles
  • School camps
  • Excursions

Our Parents Family and Friends Committee meet monthly, and we always welcome new members .....
Our PFF group meet after assemblies on a Monday.

Each year, our 'Athon' Committee organise an 'Athon' as a school fundraiser. The 'Athon' is a special event that our families look forward to, as we feature a different theme that our students, staff and parents enjoy getting involved with.
Our students collect sponsorship from their family and friends with prizes being awarded for their efforts. The sponsorship money raised assists us in providing new equipment, facilities and programs enjoyed by the students.
Last year, we held a FOOTY 'Walk-A-Thon'! It was a terrific success and it was wonderful to see the effort our students made in dressing up in Footy clothes. We had AFL footballers and umpires, soccer players, Rugby League and Rugby Union players and even an American Grid Iron player! The students walked and ran laps of the school with so much enthusiasm. We are counting the money they raised, and hope that it will be enough to purchase new ICT resources for our students.
