About Our School

We provide all students with a range of learning experiences which  develop skills, self-confidence and independence whilst encouraging a positive attitude towards their schooling.

We are proud of our high parent satisfaction rates, achieved through open and honest communication and a dedicated teaching unit who are committed to providing quality education.

We have expansive and diverse grounds that incorporate a main oval, grassed and asphalt playing areas, as well as sun protected environments.

Our school consists of 8 classrooms in contemporary flexible learning spaces, specialist areas and a gymnasium for indoor sporting events as well as a Resource Centre. Student artwork is featured throughout our grounds.

We are the only school in Wodonga to operate a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden and the only primary school to offer a seamless transition to Wodonga Middle Years and Wodonga Senior through the use of AVID (Advance Via Individual Determination).  AVID is a system of organizational strategies for success for further education and in life.

Our  Learning Centres enable all students to have access to a networked computer system, including the internet and electronic whiteboards.  Netbooks and Ipads are utilised in classrooms.

We conduct a range of child care services including before school, after school  in our fully equipped centre. At Wodonga West Primary School we offer a range of activities to extend and enrich your child’s education. With our motto being "Learning for Living" students in years 5 and 6 are able to participate in "Training For Trades" and "Studio West".  Both these programs help students develop future aspirations and utilise mentoring from Senior Secondary College students.

Our students actively participate in district sporting events and Physical Education is a Specialist area offered across the school.  In addition, over 90% of our staff  have Bluearth accreditation. This program is a holistic approach to physical exercise and wellbeing and is an integral part of our school.

Performing and Visual Arts include actively participating in the Wodonga District Arts Festival. In 2017 students will utilise a specialist Performing and Visual Arts building which also incorporates our pottery kiln.

All students across the school participate in Science as a specialist area and from 2017 Indonesian will be offered as a second language across the school.

From the beginning of the 2017 school year, all our classrooms will be operating in our new school constructed throughout 2016.  This new school building  includes an Early Learning Centre which provides both 3 and 4 year old kinder programs and playgroup.  There is also an Allied Health space where Maternal and Child health and other groups including ASPECT will operate.  The Wodonga Toy library also operates from our school on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
